Kids Against Hunger of Des Moines is a nonprofit organization entirely supported by the generous donations of people like you. We work hard to ensure that every donation is used to its maximum potential. It's through this effort, and because of our volunteers, that we are able to provide meals to starving children at a cost of 25 cents per meal.

The average volunteer can help package 500 meals in a two-hour volunteer shift! At a quarter a meal, that means their meal supply costs can be covered by raising $125.

Cans For Kids Kids Against Hunger of Des Moines is sponsoring an ongoing can and bottle drive, with all proceeds being used to help cover the cost of ingredients for weekly meal packaging sessions. Recyclable cans and bottles that qualify for a deposit refund in the state of Iowa may be dropped in the fenced bin that says Cans for Kids, located at Holmes Automotive Group at I-80/35 and Hickman Road. The bin will remain there indefinitely to help raise funds for meal ingredients. For more information, call (515) 253-3149.
